3. I Can Play
Background:
The "I Can Play" campaign was created out of a commitment to not begging for inclusion in spaces where we are not wanted. Golf, being one of the most segregated sports in the U.S., reflects the broader societal challenges we face. Our mission is to uphold our dignity by developing our path forward with the "Not Your Parents Golf" initiative, known as the "Pitch, Put, and Drive" skills competition. Through this program, we aim to teach students that they don’t have to conform to traditional golf expectations; they can have fun and showcase their unique skills developed through their school's own "Golfers Gym System."
While we support students who wish to pursue traditional golf, we also celebrate those who find joy in the innovative approach we offer. Over the years, many students have expressed how the Golfers Gym system has allowed them to learn and engage with golf in a way that makes them feel included. Some even shared that they now feel confident enough to play with their parents, highlighting the broader impact of the program in bringing families closer together.
